The Character Trait Index lists nearly every conceivable aspect in defining a character (feel free to modify this list as you see fit). Note that some traits are not well-suited for definition through Writer's Tarot™ reading methods. A good example would be the character's Profile Pic (#26). If you're determined to use the cards in defining a trait's value and such comes up, simply draw to select another trait. Otherwise, the cards have provided a focus and it'll be up to you to define its value. The choice is yours.

Scored traits are typically valued from 1 to 7 as follows:
1=Crippled; 2=Distressed; 3=Low Norm; 4=Mid Norm; 5=High Norm; 6=Gifted; 7=Superhuman

Until specified, each scored trait should be assumed as 4 (unremarkable norm) until manually adjusted. And in a reality-based story, the highest natural human value of 6 applies to only the most gifted of individuals. A score of '0' is possible if your character does not possess the referenced trait at all. And keep in mind that the scores provide for story character comparisons; so if your story includes non-human or supernatural creatures, then you may opt to adjust the 1-7 range as needed.
And finally, some scored traits, such as Physical Stamina (#133) are static and won't change throughout your story; while others, such as Physical Fatigue (#144) are more dynamic and change as scene and circumstance dictate.

Some traits are very closely related and the value of one may influence the value of another. For example, Base Income Level (#050) will influence a character's Place of Residence (#051) and Primary Transportation (#52). Keep this in mind as you go. Also, some of the traits are very similar, with subtle differences. For example, Physical Stamina (#133) references a character's ability to endure strenuous physical activity (such as running a long distance) without suffering additional Physical Fatigue (#144); while Constitution (#132) references one's ability to resist and recover from any attack against their physical wellbeing (e.g. poisons, alcohol, or disease). And at the core of all this is the character's Vitality (#096), or overall will to live and thrive. A high Vitality will manifest in ways that make the character healthier and/or more driven or ambitious or competitive, as you will determine.

You may opt to simplify the trait list (disregarding trait overlappage and subtle differences) and produce a leaner subset to work from as desired. If you have any questions or suggested modifications to our Character Trait Index, feel free to email editor@wickedworksmag.com and we'll try to respond in a timely manner.

A glossary of character trait definitions will be provided in the next section.

Below is a list of Character Traits with brief clarifying descriptions where needed. Also, note how these are grouped into primary and sometimes even secondary topics. Where a trait is nested in these groupings can help you better understand the intent behind that particular trait. Also, note that scored trait values (e.g. those found in the [stats] group) will typically have values of 1 to 7, except where indicated in trait descriptions.

Remember that scored traits are typically valued from 1 to 7 as follows:
1=Crippled; 2=Distressed; 3=Low Norm; 4=Mid Norm; 5=High Norm; 6=Gifted; 7=Superhuman
